After crash in McMinn County, family prepares funerals for 18 year old & 2 young children - WTVC
Dec 5, 2018Image used with permission by family friend Taylor Leigh Croft.MCMINN COUNTY, Tenn. — 18-year-old Morgan Goldman had just picked up her two nieces from school like she normally would, but she never made it home.Morgan's family is preparing to bury her and her two nieces, ages five and one, after the car the family shared was wrecked Wednesday night.Ginger Farrell, the girls' great grandmother, says Morgan helped take care of her nieces all the time, and would constantly make sure that everyone made it to and from school and daycare."She would take the two girls, take Blakely to school, and Olivia to the babysitter, and then she would go to school," said Ginger.The entire family shared one car after the other two cars were damaged."And it was hard, it was hard using one car and running all over the county, but they knew it had to be done so they did it," says Ginger.Morgan's mother says it was that same car that she recognized the night of the crash when she drove up on the scene off Highway 11."That was what was most horrifying thing, because you don't know if your child is dead or alive," says Christy Goldman.Soon she got the devastating news that Morgan, Blakely and Olivia all died on the scene."Your child, your grandchildren... I had all three and I lost all three," says Christy.Such tragedy for one family, inspired the community around them to help in any way they could.Morgan's nursing school raised enough money to buy a replacement car, easing at least one of the family's burdens."With God's grace and mercy, we'll make it one day at a time," says Ginger.The family says they are planning to bury the girls this weekend.
